I decided to give this blog thing a trial run, but my apologies for any babbles and drowning thoughts–the bus left at 4:30 this morning and the coffee is not quite enough to pull me out of morning shock.
Currently sitting in the Denver airport en route to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Although our In-Country Manager Zoe Keone Pacciani has been in Honduras for over a year already, this will be my first excursion. The plane is to arrive sometime around 9 pm (10 hour layover in Miami!), leaving me a solid 9 hours before catching the first morning bus to Tegucigalpa to meet with Zoe.
B2P Founder Ken Frantz will be meeting with Zoe and I (hello…I’m Avery) for a Strategic Planning meeting this coming weekend, but the other primary purpose of my trip is to meet with our University Program team from Notre Dame. They will be designing and building a bridge for the community of Pena Blanca and are the first of our teams to travel yet this year. Quite an exciting group of students that I cannot wait to finally meet.
The flight attendant is beckoning so more to come…
